My name is Amber Corwin.
Today I am here to raise awareness for my new campaign Moderate Means for the Mediocre.
Millions of children in our country are being appraised for their over-achievements. They are being noticed for their ambition to take honors courses and AP classes. They get A's left and right and have to be involved in everything from soccer to marching band to the science fair.
On the other hand, there are millions of children who are being pushed into the limelight for performing well below standards. They are struggling in national test scores and keeping up with state standards. Government programs are put in place to address the issues of under-privileged children affected.
But what about the mediocre children of our nation? What about those who are just tolerable? Those who are just okay?
I am the voice of mediocrity. It is the children of mediocrity that have grown up to live mediocre lives that have done mediocre things. This has not improved nor hurt our nation. In this way, those living mediocre lives have sustained our nation the way it is. Give them the respect they deserve. A moderately firm handshake, a blank Hallmark card or even a gift card to Walgreens is all you need to do. Show the mediocre's of the world that you care.
So please, join me in my campaign. Let the mediocre be heard. You may just find that you are more mediocre than you think.
Generically speaking,
Amber Corwin
